Nasi Lemaks!

Today during my dinner break with my friends, we went to Taj ( Chinatown or Malaytown) near East Coast Mall to have our dinner ( we go there almost everyday). All of us ate nasi lemak as it was quite ok and reasonable. Some of us ordered nasi lemak tambah nasi.

This is what we get! NASI LEMAK DOUBLE!!!

If you get a nasi lemak biasa, it will cost you RM 1.60. But if u tambah nasi, it's only RM 2.00!! How worth it is that!!

Go get your nasi lemak DOUBLE today!!

A Night Like No Other

Straits Quay is a new place to visit in Penang! It is a huge project by a company called E & O and comprises with residential areas as well as a new SHOPPING MALL! It's architecture is just so amazing that it makes you feel that you're not in Penang at all. It's building is some sort of like a British colony and stands so majestically especially during the night. It is build on reclaimed land ( some say it's where the tsunami hit) so the mall is at the sea front. If you have the money, this is definitely the place u wanna shop because it's retail stores are selling high class brands. There is also a German bar on one end and an Irish bar on the other end. Make sure you visit during the festive season because the decorations is as amazing as the place itself!

A NEW Lane with OLD, CLASSIC Food!

When it's day time, it just looks like any normal street. But when it turns to night time, it will be filled with lights shining brightly from hawker stalls from both sides of the street. Well, thats New Lane( name of the street)! It's one of the most popular places to eat in Penang I suppose. The place is always packed with food lovers! One of the best dishes there would be the 'Oh Chien' (Fried Oyster). I think you would be able to find almost every Penang hawker delicacy in just a lane. Like the old saying, ' A norm by day, a food heaven by night'

Presenting.......The New Lane!

The best way to eat oysters is by tasting the 'Oh Chien' of New Lane
Fresh oysters served with eggs.
And now, you can choose to have your 'Oh Chien' wet or dry..

Homemade 'Lor Bak'
In the plate : Lor Bak, fish fillet, century egg, tofu.
Eaten best with it's special sauce.

'Chee Cheong Chook'
Just look at those intestines...
I still do not dare to eat them till now!

'Char Kuey Tiaw' with a little help from the mini fan placed beside the wok
'Cooled' to perfection!

Some stalls at the lane...

Popiah sifu!

Down memory lane.....no! It should be down food heaven lane....

The way to making the apom manis.
The base comes with two flavours, the original and the pandan
Next, the ingredients, four to choose from : banana ( best buy), sweet corn, mango and coconut.
Eventhough it's SMALL, but it has BIG taste!

Pulau Tikus a.k.a Rat's Island

Pulau Tikus is actually not an island by it's own. It's just a name of the place in Penang island. Pulau Tikus is famous for it's market as well as ( you guessed it right!) FOOD! A popular Hokkien Mee ( Prawn Mee) stall is here and it is so popular that it closes stall as early as 9.00 am! Now, thats really really popular. Other than that, there are various kinds of food and well as kuih-muih. So, make sure that you wake up early so that you won't miss any of the good food and don't worry because there aren't any RATS!

A Day In The Market.....

Woke up as early as 8am to go to the market. The market here (named Chowrasta Market) is situated at the heart of Georgetown, Penang. The market here is really different from the ones we have in Kuantan. The size is much bigger, more people, more variety of things and especially, MORE DELICIOUS FOOD!! So if you have the time, do visit the market! Cheers!
